Tissues were homogenized with a rotor stator homogenizer (ultra-turrax) in 10 vol of sodium acetate (pH 5.5). The homogenates were then sonicated and finally extracted for 20 min at 4 degrees Celsius. The supernatants were employed after centrifugation (20,000 g for 15 min).
