An arterial blood sample was removed at 1 and 20 min after administration of DDT, after which the rats were given an intra-arterial bolus (0.5 ml) of saturated KCl to stop the heart. Samples of tissues (1 g) were homogenized using a rotor stator homogenizer (ultra-turrax) in 20 ml of chloroform/methanol.
