Rats were anaesthetized, by intraperitoneal injection and their livers were perfused with 250 ml of ice-cold 0.15 m-NaCl, excised and homogenates (20%, w/v) were prepared in 0.15 m-KCl  buffer with a rotor stator homogenizer (ultra-turrax) for 10 s.
