Fresh tobacco leaf tissue was extracted with P-PER® Reagent Working Solution using common plant tissue grinding aids. Results were compared to Dounce homogenizer, liquid nitrogen/mortar and pestle grinding, rotor-stator tissue grinder, the BioMasher™ Sample Prep Device and blue polypropylene pestles. The extracted protein levels and the ratios of extracted protein per total plant tissue weight were determined for all samples.
