Bacterial pellets were obtained from cultures of recombinant E. coli in rich medium. The pellets were thawed in 50 ml 50 mM Tris–HCl buffer pH 8.0 and disrupted by sonication for 10 min at 20% amplitude in an ultrasonic homogenizer (sonicator).
