Asolectin (80mg/ml) was mixed with 2% cholic acid and 100 mM HEPES-KOH, pH 7.4 and then sonicated using an ultrasonic homogenizer (sonicator) using 10–12 30-second cycles, at 50% duty, with a break of ~60 seconds between cycles.
