For the preparation of the 100-mg/kg dose, 10 mg of PA-824 was added to 1 ml of a 10% solution of hydroxypropyl-β-cyclodextrin, and the mixture was stirred gently for 24 h at room temperature. The resulting suspension was sonicated with an ultrasonic homogenizer (sonicator) for 10 min at 25% amplitude.
